This session will focus on skills you will need to do research in support of your persuasive speech assignment.  Topics we'll cover include:

• Developing good search terms and strategies for your topic;
• Learning to speak the language of databases;
• Using reference materials to get a better handle on your topic;
• Search for--and locating--books, scholarly journal articles, newspaper articles, and more

Most importantly, you have now met at least one librarian in person who can help you when you get stuck.  There are many more of us that can help you with your research in a variety of ways, so be sure to check the Help tab in this guide if you need assistance. 

Remember:  Nobody learns all this stuff the first time around!
