Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization offering a set of simple, public copyright licenses. These are legally-enforceable licenses that are meant to be simple to implement and easy for the average person to understand. They can be used to provide access to creative work in a open standardized fashion.
CC is a third way between completely open access to a creative work and stricter conventional copyright.
