Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs give MC students the opportunity to interact with college and university students in another country. This kind of virtual exchange "encourage[s] students to gain a deeper level of cultural understanding, global self-awareness, social responsibility and capacity to apply their knowledge to contemporary global challenges in a dynamic and meaningful way" (Global Classrooms at Montgomery College).
