Citation Managers

Citation management tools allow a user to:

Collect, organize, and retrieve citation information from books, articles and websites
Interface with the library databases and with websites
Work with word-processing software (Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, and others) to insert properly formatted footnotes or citations and bibliographies into a research paper

MC Library subscribes to two popular citation management tools:

NoodleTools This link opens in a new window
NoodleTools is a citation creation, web-based software program. Each user must create a "personal folder" (i.e., select a personal ID and password) by clicking the "Create a Personal ID" button on the login screen.
RefWorks: Online Citation Construction Tool This link opens in a new window
An online research management, writing and collaboration tool, Refworks is designed to help researchers gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies.All users will have to create a free, individual account in order to generate bibliographies and the like.
